Assessment of Intracardiac and Extracardiac Deformities in Patients with Various Types of Pulmonary Atresia by Dual-Source Computed Tomography

Background: Pulmonary atresia (PA) is a group of heterogeneous complex congenital heart disease. Only one study modality might not get correct diagnosis. This aims to investigate the diagnostic power dual-source computed tomography (DSCT) for all intracardiac and extracardiac deformities in patients with PA compared transthoracic echocardiography (TTE). Materials Methods: retrospective enrolled 79 divided them into three groups according their main All associated malformations clinical information, including treatments, were recorded among groups. The DSCT TTE on compared. surgical index (McGoon ratio, pulmonary arterials (PAI), total neopulmonary arterial index) radiation dose calculated basis DSCT. Results: Of patients, 32, 30, 17 ventricular septal defect (VSD), VSD major aortopulmonary collateral arteries, other malformations, respectively. McGoon PAI, treatment methods significantly different (p 0.014, 0.008, 0.018, respectively). Conclusion: More than imaging should be used make diagnosis when clinically suspecting PA. superior diagnosing roughly calculate indices optimize strategy.
